The short version
Adults only. Keep it about the squirrel and the stats. Do not identify, sexualise, harass or impersonate real people, do not post anything explicit or illegal, do not cheat, and do not attack or scrape the service. If you see something that breaks these rules, email support@thenuttracker.com.
This policy is part of the terms of service.
1. What this covers
This policy applies to everything you do with The Nut Tracker and thenuttracker.com, and in particular to anything that can be seen by someone other than you:
- share cards you create in the app and post elsewhere;
- nicknames, including those in the Partner Book;
- and, when they arrive, friends, groves, leaderboards, handles, profiles and anything else social.
2. What exists today
In the current version of the app, nothing you log is visible to anyone else. There is no account, no feed, no friends list, no groves and no leaderboards. Your entries, notes and Partner Book never leave your phone. The only way something from the app reaches another person is when you choose to share it, for example a share card.
Friends, groves and leaderboards are planned for a later version. When they arrive they will come with an account, and with tools to report content and block people. The rules below already apply to them, so nobody has to learn new ones later.
[CONFIRM] Dima to update this section when social features ship: exactly what other users can see (for example handle, avatar, counts, streaks, ratings, tags, grove names), how it is stored on the server, and how reporting, blocking and muting work in the app.
3. Adults only
- You must be 18 or over to use the app or the website.
- Do not help anyone under 18 to use it, and do not add or invite anyone under 18 to a grove or a friends list.
- Nothing in or around the app may involve, depict or refer to a minor in a sexual way. There are no exceptions, and we report it to the authorities where the law requires.
4. Real people
The joke is the squirrel and the stats, never a person.
- Do not use a share card, a nickname, a handle, a grove name or any other text to identify a real person as a partner or in connection with anything you log.
- Do not sexualise a real person, whether they are named, described or otherwise identifiable.
- Do not post, reveal or hint at anyone else’s private information, such as their name, contact details, location, workplace or photos.
- Do not record or track anyone without their knowledge and agreement.
5. The Partner Book
The Partner Book is private, encrypted on your phone and never shared by the app. Nicknames in it are yours to manage responsibly.
- Use a nickname, not someone’s real full name, and nothing that would identify them to others.
- Never make a Partner Book nickname public. Do not put it on a share card, in a handle, in a grove name, in a screenshot you post, or anywhere else another person could see it and work out who it refers to.
- If you export the Partner Book, that file is yours to keep safe.
6. No harassment
Do not bully, threaten, shame, stalk, intimidate or abuse anyone, including by comparing their stats, mocking a streak or a dry spell, or targeting them with share cards. Do not encourage anyone to harm themselves. Do not post hateful content about a person or a group because of who they are.
7. Nothing explicit
The app has no photos, no video and no explicit content, and it stays that way.
- Do not use any text you can enter, such as a handle, a nickname, a grove name or a custom tag that others can see, for sexually explicit or pornographic material.
- Do not pair a share card with explicit imagery or text when you post it, or edit a share card to add it.
- Keep it cheeky, not graphic.
8. Nothing illegal
Do not use the app or the website to create, share or promote anything illegal where you are or where we are, including content that is non consensual, exploitative, defamatory, or that infringes someone else’s copyright, trade mark or privacy.
9. No impersonation
Do not pretend to be someone else, including another user, a public figure, Kallos Labs LLC or anyone who works with us. Do not use a handle or a grove name designed to mislead people about who you are, or suggest that we endorse you when we do not.
10. Fair play
- Do not generate fake entries, by hand or by automation, to inflate your stats or to climb a leaderboard.
- Do not exploit bugs to earn badges, acorns or rewards you have not earned. If you find a bug, tell us.
- Do not run multiple identities to win a grove or to get around a block.
11. Respect the service
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile, modify or tamper with the app, try to break the encryption protecting notes and the Partner Book, or get around the paywall, except where the law expressly allows it regardless of this rule.
- Do not scrape, crawl or harvest the website, the app or any future service, or collect information about other users, by automated means, except for search engines indexing public pages in line with our robots rules.
- Do not use articles or other content from the website to train or build a competing product without our written permission.
- Do not attack, probe, overload or disrupt the app, the website or any server behind them, introduce malware, or try to get access to anything that is not yours.
- Do not resell, sublicense or redistribute the app or its content.
12. Reporting
If you see something that breaks this policy, or you think someone under 18 is using the app, email support@thenuttracker.com. Tell us what you saw and where. Please do not send us your log history or anyone’s private information beyond what we need to understand the problem.
We aim to answer within 48 hours. [CONFIRM] Before social features ship, Dima to set and publish the moderation response time for reports made in the app (the product plan says 24 hours), and to add the in app report and block steps here.
13. Enforcement
If you break this policy, we may, depending on how serious it is:
- remove or hide the content, where we are able to;
- warn you;
- suspend or end your access to social features, or to the app, as the terms of service allow;
- report it to the police or another authority where the law requires or where someone may be at risk.
In the current version there is no account and nothing you log reaches us, so our practical reach is limited to what we can see, such as content you share publicly that uses our name, our mascots or our share cards. [CONFIRM] with counsel the process for notices and appeals required under the EU Digital Services Act and the UK Online Safety Act once social features ship.
14. Changes
We will update this policy when the app changes, and in particular when social features arrive. We will update the date at the top and, if the change matters, tell you in the app.
